Clowning around with French House Co-op for a night of music, vendors, and community
by Noah Macias
On the 25th of July, we got to attend The Last Laugh at French House Co-op. A heavy-hitting event that showcased live talent in the Austin area. The lineup was a stacked list of local bands including Blurred Beauty, Midnight Dawn, In the Shade, and True Status. With curated riffs, dynamic performances, and unmatched crowd interaction, it is no surprise they had a packed house of eager friends and fans. Everyone pulled out their silliest gear, ready for all the theme had in store, and for a few hours, the space was transformed. It became a place of connection, art, and community where everyone could let loose. An eccentric safe haven that gave people the space to come together. The Last Laugh proved to have some of the best crowd interaction we have seen to date. Attendees laughed, screamed, and moshed all through the night while getting the chance to shop local booths. Something we all need a little more of, and a vital piece of the Austin scene. French House is a social hub, consistently hosting events that make everyone feel welcome and connected. Much like the popular Red River District, French House is making a name for itself as an upcoming staple of the arts. From clown face paint to tarot card readings, or the delicious sweets provided by Whisk and Whiskers, the vendors were the cherry on top of an already special night. We at YUCK! Are so grateful to have been given the opportunity to attend. Keep an eye on French House and all of the bands and vendors. We can’t wait to see what comes next!
